2008 Silver Paddle Event Details

   Canoe Racers

  • All skill levels are welcome

  • Canoe racers must be at least 14 years of age

  • 2 person canoe teams will compete in a race to post the best time

  • Heats will be developed based on Racing Category:  Scouts, Scout Leaders, Corporate, Service Clubs, Fire & Police

  • Canoes, Personal Flotation Devices, and Paddles will be provided (You must use our canoes)

  • Each Canoe Team is asked to raise a minimum of $250 (Enough to Support 2 Scouts)  Youth Scout teams(14 & Up) are welcome and only need to try to raise whatever support they can ($100 suggested). *There are no registration fees for youth scout teams* 

  • All racers will receive a commemorative patch & t-shirt

  • All canoe racers will receive a buffet lunch and refreshments (provided by Bob Evan's Restaurants)

  • Registration begins at 10:00am and the race will begin at approximately 11:00am

  • Team T-Shirts or costumes are encouraged!

Cub Scout Land Yacht Racers

  • New this year and open to all Cub Scouts

  • Cubs will be racing in a canoe on land in a specially built dolly

  • 2 person canoe teams will compete in a race to post the best time

  • Canoes, Personal Flotation Devices, and Paddles will be provided (You must use our canoes)

  • Cost is $20 per canoe

  • All racers will receive a commemorative patch & t-shirt

  • All canoe racers will receive a buffet lunch and refreshments (provided by Bob Evan's Restaurants)

  • Registration begins at 10:00am and the race will begin at approximately 11:00am

  • Team T-shirts or costumes are encouraged!

        


 

 Activities!

  • Come cheer on all of the teams and watch the 3rd Annual Silver Paddle Race

  • Learn About the Scouting program

  • Fishing will be available and Cub Scouts can work on their Fishing Belt Loop

  • Basketball Court, Frisbees and whatever fun you can make

Prizes!

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each race group
Additional prizes and gift certificates will be awarded to any participants who raise over $1,000
A grand prize will be given out to the individual who raises the most money for Scouting
The Winners of the Canoe Race will have their Team Name Engraved on the Trophy for All Time!

Raffle!

We will raffle off a number of great prizes the day of the event
